D. Jean Ryan

She is admitted to practice law in the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.
In 1989, Ms. Ryan opened her own bankruptcy practice, concentrating on consumer issues. In 1998 she merged her firm with a mid-sized firm and later was Of Counsel with the former Miami offices of Steel, Hector & Davis, LLP. In October of 2004, she and Marcia T. Dunn opened Ryan & Dunn, P.A. In November, 2010 Ms. Ryan opened her own practice again. Ms. Ryan’s practice includes representation of consumer debtors, creditors, trustees and business debtors in Chapter 7, Chapter 12, Chapter 13 and Chapter 11 cases.
Ms. Ryan is a past president of the Bankruptcy Bar Association of the Southern District of Florida, for which she has also chaired the Continuing Education Committee and its Weekend Retreats. She also founded and produced the Bar Association’s Newsletter and served, for many years, on the Board of Directors. Ms. Ryan has also been a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute, the American Bar Association, the National Association of Bankruptcy Trustees, the Commercial Law League, the International Women’s Insolvency and Restructuring Confederation, and is a former Director of the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys.
Ms. Ryan served as an adjunct Professor, teaching Bankruptcy Law and the Bankruptcy Clinic at St. Thomas University’s School of Law. She also served on the Law School’s Board of Advisors. Ms. Ryan has taught Bankruptcy and Creditor’s Rights courses at Barry University and has been a visiting lecturer at the University of Miami and Nova Law Schools.
Ms. Ryan was previously certified as a Mediator in civil matters and is on the approved list of Mediators for the United States Bankruptcy Court, Southern District of Florida.
Ms. Ryan provided her expertise to members of the National Bankruptcy Review Commission that was appointed by Congress to investigate and report on consumer bankruptcy issues and testified before a Congressional Committee in 1997 regarding the increase in personal bankruptcies and the crisis in consumer credit.

Lorella Dal Pezzo-King

In 2008 Ms. Dal Pezzo-King co-authored Comparative Family Law published by Carolina Academic Press, and her law review article on the reporting rules of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 was selected for publication by the Florida International University Law Review. During the last 2 ½ years Ms. Dal Pezzo-King has been practicing bankruptcy law, representing bankruptcy trustees, debtors and creditors in bankruptcy and bankruptcy related matters.
She has been a member of the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys since 2008, and continues to be a member of the bar and of the Association of Journalists in her native Italy. Her prior experience in business management and operations sharpens her understanding and enhances her ability to deal with business related issues in individual and corporate bankruptcies.
Her familiarity with several languages (English, Italian and Spanish), and multicultural background allows her to communicate effectively with clients in their native language.
